February 2025 – Endless Snowstorms February brought relentless cold and snowfall, with no sign of the usual January thaw. The snow is piled high, but on the bright side, we’ve seen more sunshine than in some past years—definitely a mood booster! Lately, I’ve been experimenting with hand-spun wool threads and incorporating hardware elements into my artwork, adding unique textures and depth to my pieces. 🔹 Pink Fossil 🔹 Petoskey Stone To brighten my days with color, I created Happy Trails Abstract, a vibrant and uplifting piece. 🔹 Happy Trails Abstract The project I dedicated the most time to this month is a stunning poppy, requiring 60 hours of meticulous work. This intricate piece includes a carefully designed mounting system and comes with a protective dome to prevent dust accumulation, though it looks best displayed in the open. 🔹 Poppy Artwork To receive this as a pre-released email sign up for my newsletter, as a subscriber, you will get an exclusive sneak peek at these new pieces before they go live on my website.
Thank you for your continued support! Connie

Embracing Balance
This past month and a half has been about finding balance between my art business and personal life. I’ve come to realize that time spent with family and friends is far more rewarding than overworking—and it’s about time I embraced that! Prioritizing my physical and mental well-being has also been time well spent. So, where does that leave my art? I’m still creating plenty, but with a newfound sense of freedom—some pieces just for myself, without the pressure to sell. One of my favorite new projects is a Stitched Gratitude Journal. Twice a week, I stitch a small wool penny with a symbol representing something I’m grateful for, connecting them into a banner that will showcase the entire year. It’s an exciting personal journey! In addition, I’ve been working on small felt projects and even learning to crochet! So far, I’ve crocheted seven baskets to hold supplies for my creative endeavors. January has been a wonderful time to regroup, explore, and simply “play” in the studio. Next month, I’ll be sharing progress pictures of four projects and listing them on my website at the end of the month. If you’d like an exclusive first look at the finished pieces before they go live to the public, be sure to sign up for my email newsletter—you’ll get early access before anyone else! Thank you for your continued interest and support! I truly appreciate your time in reading my blog and newsletters, as well as engaging with my posts on Facebook and Instagram. Your support means so much! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season, enjoying Christmas with family and friends. Looking back, 2024 was a whirlwind of a year for me! Here's a quick recap of all the highlights:
Looking Ahead to 2025 I plan to slow down, regroup, and evaluate what’s working and what isn’t. While I’ll be trimming down the number of festivals I attend (12 was a bit much!), I’m open to suggestions—let me know if there’s one you’d like to see me at. I’ll also be pursuing some gallery opportunities instead. Thank you for subscribing to my newsletter, following me on Instagram and Facebook, and for supporting handmade, local art. Every purchase of a hand-stitched piece means the world to me, and I’m deeply grateful for your support. Wishing you a joyful holiday season and a bright New Year! Warm regards, Connie Happy Fall! The air has cooled, the leaves are changing, and it’s a beautiful time of year. I just wrapped up the Fall Fest at Blue Mountain Lake Adirondack Experience—it was a fantastic day with great people!

www.matttommeymentoring.com/We are in a brand new year, filled with hope and adventures. I am currently entering and applying to juried festivals and exhibits around my state of New York. So far I’m accepted into the Inlet Arts in the Park festival, the Adirondack sheep and art festival, the Mushroom Festival and waiting on a few others. It’s shaping up to be a busy summer with camping and festivals in between Bed and Breakfast guests .
I have new mushrooms and lakes and flowers coming out soon. I’ve also been promoting my hand embroidered sonograms in two local hospitals. It’s a busy time! Finally, I want to share with you a huge resource and encouragement for me in my art business process. There is a mentoring program I subscribe to that has been so informative and invaluable to me these last three years, with an online course and live zoom calls, Q&A live zooms, Expert Hour Zoom calls and then the wonderful worldwide community of subscribers that we get to meet and form friendships. I treasure my new friends in the group and have met up with a few of them in person. This group and opportunity to join can be found here http://www.matttommeymentoring.com/ . It really is a wonderful group. I’ll keep you up to date on all the new festivals and goings on to come! Connie Last night was the Thousand Islands Arts Center Opening Reception for the Along The Rivers Edge Juried Show! I have two pieces in it again this year, the life sized Luna Moth and an aerial view landscape of Wellesley Island. It was great to see friends there and meet new people! It was so nice Amanda could join me again this year.
Next up is the Inlet Arts in the Park Festival this weekend, July 15-16. Come and see my new products and my booth! I will be opening orders for a special BUNDLE package when I'm there! A custom landscape plus a few sweet BONUS items! Give me a call if you are interested! ![]() June 6, 2023 Wow, where does the time go?? So much has happened already this year. I made a Tiny Art Gallery for my community and installed it at the end of my driveway. People can bring art and take art, free! Much like the little library boxes. The local news station came and did an interview and the newspapers did articles. How fun! There has been art flowing through it quite regularly. It is currently empty so I will issue another Call For Artists on Facebook and that should generate more art. Link to WWNY news station interview: https://www.wwnytv.com/2023/03/06/tiny-art-new-gallery-opens-croghan/ I've made it into several juried shows again this year, and will be at Inlets Arts in the Park Festival, Blue mountain Lakes Artisans Festival, the Mushroom Mania Festival and I'm waiting on a couple more! I have my first Solo Show titled, Threads in Nature, in Sept-Oct at Adirondack Lakes Center of the Arts in Blue Mountain! I also have two major pieces in the new Permanent Exhibit at Adirondack Experience Blue Mountain Museum, opening date is July 1st! And I've been interviewed by Matt Tommy, author, mentor, speaker and artist. The podcast can be found here. https://podcasts.google.com/?q=the%20thriving%20christian%20artist All in all it's been a good year with sales and press and productivity. I hope to see you at a festival or contact me to see my little entry shop!
![]() Happy 4th of July! We have been going on hikes in the Adirondacks lately and I am feeling so inspired and excited by the beautiful nature we can experience firsthand. We hiked the Eagle Canyon Trail off of the Fish Creek Road this weekend. It was fantastic! The moss covered boulders that look like they were just tossed here and there, the massive wall of rock, the moss everywhere, the tall trees that grow from a 6 inch crack in the cliff, the unusual mushrooms and the view from the top!! The rapids are sometimes used for white water rafting in the fall. There are areas where rock climbers have gear pounded in the cliff. Amazing. It's a great way to spend a weekend and I have several ideas emerging to develop in the future. I hope your 4th was just as satisfying and enjoyable as ours. I believe the mushroom is Genus Phaeolus Schweinitzii. |
AuthorWelcome to my blog! I'm excited to be creating fiber sculptures of nature, going on forays, hikes and biking in the Adirondacks and the 1,000 Islands regions for inspiration with my husband, Randy. Archives
