April Showers, not flurries

April Showers, Not Flurries
  • We’re finally into April—and even had a few days warm enough to dig in the garden! I love growing flowers, and many of my pieces are inspired by what I grow or discover on nature walks. I’m grateful we don’t have much snow right now and that warmer days are on the way.
  • Big news! I was accepted into the Oaks Expo Fine Craft Show in Greater Philadelphia, PA this fall. I’ll only be doing two shows this year, with the possibility of adding a holiday show in December.
  • More good news: I received the regrant I applied for last fall! My project will feature hand-embroidered aerial views of the five Great Lakes. I grew up just seven miles from Lake Superior and have many cherished beach memories. Now, I live about 45 minutes from Lake Ontario—Southwick Beach is my favorite, and I visit as often as I can.
  • I just finished a new Great Blue Heron piece and am waiting for the float frame to arrive. After years of trying to photograph a heron (they’re so shy!), this artwork finally captures the moment I always hoped for.
  • New gallery representation: The Gallery of the Blue Frog is now carrying some of my work. Stop in next time you’re visiting Saint Drago’s for coffee!

Thank you for your support and for taking the time to read this email. Wishing you a wonderful April!

Welcome to my blog! I'm excited to be creating fiber sculptures of nature, going on forays, hikes and biking in the Adirondacks and the 1,000 Islands regions for inspiration with my husband, Randy.
